For Michelle Whitney, this means building a career spanning more than two decades dedicated to caring for our residents.
Michelle joined our Manor of Novi community right out of college 22 years ago. As a Registered Dietitian, she works directly with team members, residents, and their families. Over the course of her career, she has embraced her passion for long-term care and made a difference in countless lives.

one meal at a time
Michelle’s role as a Registered Dietitian is more than feeding residents. She works closely with her team to ensure everyone enjoys safe and appetizing meals while also overseeing their nutritional health. Michelle finds that providing residents a homelike dining experience each day is the most fulfilling use of her expertise that she can imagine.

Beyond her duties, Michelle stays immersed in our culture. She appreciates our supportive leadership, who provide opportunities for staff to make their voices heard. Whether she’s joining a committee or participating in an employee program, the level of teamwork and appreciation Michelle experiences only furthers her dedication to our mission. When she’s not serving our residents, Michelle is passionate about breaking misconceptions about nursing homes through her work mentoring interns from U of M, Schoolcraft, and Wayne State.

Michelle’s passion for nutrition extends beyond the Manor of Novi. She emphasizes individualized care and helping residents who return home so that they are empowered to make healthy dietary choices. Michelle believes every resident can make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of everyone close to them today, tomorrow, and beyond.
