From a young age, Lisa knew she had the strength and potential to make a positive difference in others’ lives. She spent countless hours with her grandparents hearing about how they grew up in a different era. In time, their life experiences helped shape her own.
Those moments soon evolved into a love for taking care of the elderly – a love that quickly grew and led Lisa towards a meaningful career with our team.

United by meaning
Lisa started her story with Ciena nearly 20 years ago. Like many of our other leaders, she worked directly with our communities – learning how to deliver the best personalized care for each resident. Each person she met was an opportunity to make a true difference, to bring attention, empathy, and dignity to another.
Of course, she didn’t work alone. Within each Ciena community is a dedicated team of many backgrounds, skills, and experiences – such as dietitians, activities directors, and social workers – coming together to provide optimal care. By collaborating with each other and with dedicated leadership, they provide a place where residents can rest, recover and receive the best treatment possible.
It’s important to treat our residents with the respect and dignity that they deserve, while working as a team to provide a safe and supportive environment.

That constant compassion and opportunity to bring more meaning continues driving her to continue a career with purpose, and she welcomes anyone curious to do the same.
