Medical Records Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Records Coordinator to join our team at The Laurels of Defiance, a 107-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. As a Medical Records Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining our facility's record keeping procedures and storage of all clinical records.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement policies to ensure that records are complete, accurately documented, readily accessible, and systematically organized.

  • Consult with staff to help define and analyze information needed from the clinical record.

  • Conduct audits of the clinical record as scheduled.

  • Complete sections of the Minimum Data Set as required.

  • Process transfer or discharge records and maintain appropriate clinical records on former residents. Conduct clinical record destruction according to regulation and policy.

  • Monitor inventory and order supplies for the medical records department.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Records Technician (MRT), Accredited Records Technician (ART), or a Medical Records Administrator preferred.

  • A background in use of computerized systems is preferred.
