Ward Clerk
Are you organized and helpful and interested in the medical setting? If you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will love being a Ward Clerk at The Laurels of The Laurels of Bon Air.
The Ward Clerk assists the Charge and Staff Nurses in recording and charting of medical or administrative information in the medical record.
What you’ll be doing:
- Record medical and administrative information in accordance with our established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
- Answer telephones, page calls, deliver messages to residents, etc., as necessary.
- Admit, transfer and discharge residents. Assist in arranging for transportation, packing, escorting to discharge/transfer area, loading, etc., as necessary.
File reports, etc., in resident’s charts as directed.
- Transcribe physician’s orders to MAR and TARs. Fax physician orders to pharmacy. Notify nurse of orders and obtain her signature.
- Schedule resident appointments for diagnostic and therapeutic services, and arrange transportation.
- Greet newly admitted residents upon admission. Escort to room as necessary.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
