The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the accounting operations of the company. This includes overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, assisting with month-end and year-end closing, ensuring compliance with GAAP, preparing financial statements, and supporting audits. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team. This role is an in-person position at our Westerville corporate offices.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff
- Help maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Assist with external audits and tax filings
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting and analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or progress toward certification strongly preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory or senior accountant experience
- Experience in public accounting or a corporate environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel
