While each interview will vary by position and location – there are some constants you can keep in mind. We asked one of our recruiters what they usually look for from each candidate.
Here's what they had to say:
1. Do your research
Understand the Ciena mission, values, and what sets us apart in long-term care. It shows us you’re genuinely interested.
2. Know your "why"
Prepare to share why you became a healthcare worker and your motivations. Passion plays a major role in helping you stand out.
3. Be Specific
When sharing your strengths, use examples to help paint the full story – whether they’re about patient care, teamwork, problem-solving, and more.
4. ask thoughtful questions
Interviews are a two-way conversation. Ask about our culture, training, or resident care approach to show you’re thinking long-term.
5. Show your soft skills
We’re looking for individuals who bring not just expertise, but also compassion, adaptability, and a strong sense of teamwork. Share stories that highlight how you collaborate, stay flexible in changing situations, and connect with patients or co-workers on a human level.
